“Doin’ it Right” — Daft Punk feat. Panda Bear

When Daft Punk revealed themselves at Coachella 2006, our suspicions that the duo wasn’t from Earth were confirmed. The robotic pair emerged from a pyramid-shaped starship and invited 40,000 festival-goers on an EDM joyride that started in 1993 and lasted for 28 successful years.

Whether you’re getting warmed up or pushing through a set, “Doin’ it Right,” the band’s most critically acclaimed song, will give you that heart-pulsing rhythm to kick off your workout. And might even remind you to check on your form every now and then.

“Disparate Youth” — Santigold

Blending punk rock, hip-hop, dance and dub, Santigold continues to shape pop music with every leap she takes. Beyonce even gave her a shoutout in the remix of her 2022 hit, "BREAK MY SOUL” name-dropping Santigold among several other Black women in music.

“Disparate Youth” comes from Santigold’s 2012 studio album, Master of My Make-Believe. If you want to enjoy the benefits of listening to music while running, this super-charged anthem is just for you.

“What You Know” — Two Door Cinema Club

“What You Know” is a shot of pure hype. Who needs pre-workout supplements anyway?

Two Door Cinema Club released this song on their 2010 debut album, Tourist History. Punchy and uplifting, this alt-rock classic will flush your body with enough fuel to prevail through the toughest cardio and weightlifting workouts.

“Midnight City” — M83

When you need that extra push to keep you going, queue up “Midnight City” by the French electronic artist M83.

Whether you first heard this song as the theme to the BBC’s London 2012 Olympic Games coverage or through another one of its numerous synchronization placements, “Midnight City” has probably been permanently stuck in your head for years now.

And no wonder “Midnight City” has found itself in so many shows, movies, games and commercials. This electronic anthem has a spectrum of colorful synth bass, haunting vocals and 80s-inspired drum fills—an energizing mixture that pairs well with a morning protein shake.

“BREAK MY SOUL” — Beyoncé

Nothing says “next-level” like Beyoncé. Taking that next step (or pushing for the next rep) feels effortless whenever the Queen B floats through your True Wireless earbuds.

“BREAK MY SOUL” is one of the hottest tracks from her seventh studio album, Renaissance, which was released in 2022. This track will help you rid your mind of the mental roadblocks that keep you from reaching your fitness goals.

“Electric Feel” — MGMT

“Electric Feel” is a fun throwback that'll encourage you to reflect on how far you’ve come since you’ve started your workout.

MGMT released “Electric Feel” back in 2007 as their album Oracular Spectacular’s second hit single, making it one of the most timeless dance songs on the list. Make no mistake—this funky indie-pop track with its unique lyrics can do wonders for your fitness mindset.

“When A Fire Starts to Burn” — Disclosure

Get amped for your full-body workout with “When A Fire Starts to Burn” by Disclosure. The English electronic duo flooded the club scene back in 2013 with this track, and now we’re using it to power you through the most intense workout routines.

Like a match to kerosene, this high-energy dance track will ignite your body with a fever that can only be broken with burnouts, split-sets and extra reps.

“N95” — Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar will make you feel larger than life. “N95” comes from his latest record, 2022’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers—his final studio album with Top Dawg Entertainment. The release launched to the top of the Billboard 200 in May (Kendrick’s fourth No. 1 album on the chart).

Put on “N95” to get into the mood to work hard in the gym and reach your full potential, whether you’re boxing, weightlifting, jogging or warming up.

“Till I Collapse” — Eminem feat. Nate Dogg

Eminem started his career as an underdog and defied all expectations when the odds were stacked against him. His fourth studio album, The Eminem Show, became an instant classic for hip-hop heads and casual listeners in 2002. You can listen to “Till I Collapse” to tap into that same frame of mind when you’re pushing your body to the limit.

The track features a massive beat that you’ll feel coursing through your veins. Like a rose sprouting from concrete, you’ll feel yourself rise through the impossible (split-sets and non-stop burpees).

“Massive” — Drake

Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind took fans by surprise. Not only did the album drop out of nowhere in 2022, but the style of the music is completely different from the rap songs that we’re used to hearing. Nevertheless, it's refreshing to hear Drake return to a sonic landscape that we haven’t heard in a while.

“Massive” starts off easy and then rises into a soul-moving groove that’ll help you keep a steady workout pace. It’s perfect for warm-ups, light cardio, biking or whatever routine that gets you up and moving.

“I Ain’t Worried” — OneRepublic

The pop-rock group OneRepublic bounced back from a brief hiatus and took us by surprise with “I Ain’t Worried.” This track dropped over the summer of 2022, and we still have yet to get it out of our heads (in the best way).

A sunny, upbeat melody is exactly what you need on your morning jog. This track combines clever songwriting and a catchy melody that’ll keep your spirits high while you’re grinding through a tough workout.

“Power” — Moon Boots, Black Gatsby

Injecting positivity into your workout can make the difference between throwing in the towel and reaching the finish line.

Moon Boots is an American electronic music producer and DJ known for his deep house and disco-influenced sound. His track “Power,” featuring Black Gatsby, will give you that extra boost when your body tires. While you’re at it, add some of their other dance hits to your personal workout playlist—it’ll lift your spirit while you’re lifting iron.

“Ripple” — Flume, Sycco, Chrome Sparks

The last couple of years have been exciting for Flume. Following the Hi This is Flume mixtape released in 2021, he released a follow-up album (Palaces) and continued collaborating with a handful of underground pop artists. In the midst of the smaller projects Flume shared in 2022, “Ripple” stood out, and we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to throw it on our workout playlist.

This fast-paced dance track has everything you need to get through a workout—a tight drum groove, deep bass lines and vocals that are too sweet to be true. Queue this one up to keep your momentum going strong.

“Oh My God” — Adele

You might not immediately associate famous balladeer Adele with your workout playlist, but it’s about time you should. Though she’s best known for heartbreaking anthems like “Someone Like You” and “Hello,” Adele knows how to pack a punch that’s fit for the boxing ring.

Featured on her 2021 studio album, 30, “Oh My God” shows off Adele’s underrated knack for writing upbeat pop songs. You get the best of both worlds—soulful and powerful pop vocals and one of the deepest beats we’ve ever heard.

“Good Days” — SZA

Cool down after your workout with “Good Days” by SZA. You’ll find plenty of other chill-down tracks from the rising R&B queen on her latest album, SOS, released at the tail-end of 2022. Her long-awaited album hit the top of the Billboard 200 and remains one of the hottest releases on all Spotify, garnering the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album.

“Good Days” has a chill, downtempo style and lyrics that shine light on what’s to come.
